Disclosure
This statement serves as full disclosure of my partnership with brands as required by the FTC.
Flipped-Out Food, by Adeptify, LLC is a personal blog that is owned, photographed, written, edited, and published by me, Erin Michelle Frank (please call me “Michelle”!). This blog is completely based on my personal opinions and experiences. Unless stated otherwise, all content is my own. If, as in the case of a guest blog, the content is not my own, this information will be disclosed at the beginning of the post.
Like most food bloggers out there, I sometimes receive compensation for recipe development, product reviews, and affiliate links. If you click on an affiliate link on my site and buy a product or service, I will receive a small commission, which helps me cover the overhead of running this site, creating recipes, and bringing you great content. (Let me just say—if you do end up making a purchase through an affiliate link—that I really appreciate your support!)
I may also promote products through my various social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+). Rest assured, though, that any compensation for these promotions will not influence my view of the product in any way: I will still give you my honest assessment. Please also know that I will only promote those products that I believe in and use myself, and that I think will be interesting to my readers. If I'm not a fan, you won't see it promoted on Flipped-Out Food. But you might see a snarky review.
I am a participant in affiliate advertising programs designed to provide a means for this site to earn fees by linking to affiliated sites. My current affiliations are as follows:

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.
First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. Each internet browser has functionality so that you can block both first and third-party cookies and clear your browser’s cache. The "help" feature of the menu bar on most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to receive notification of new cookies, how to disable existing cookies and how to clear your browser’s cache. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, you can consult the information at All About Cookies.
Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.
The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:
- IP Address
- Operating System type
- Operating System version
- Device Type
- Language of the website
- Web browser type
- Email (in hashed form)
Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

In order to operate better and provide our services to you, it is sometimes necessary for Flipped-Out Food to collect or process information about You. Generally speaking, this information will take one or more of the following forms:
Log files
FlippedOutFood.com uses log files, as do many websites: these include internet protocol (IP) addresses, the type of web browser used, the Internet Service Provider used (ISP), date/time stamp of visits, referring and exit pages, and the length of visits.
Why do this? It helps Flipped-Out Food analyze trends, continually improve the site, track users’ movement on Flipped-Out Food, and gather demographic information. All of this information helps Flipped-Out Food adapt content, layout, and navigation to improve the user experience for its visitors. Note: the IP address and other information gathered is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
How we use cookies
A cookie is a small file that requests permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. When you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyze web traffic (or it lets you know when you visit a particular site). Cookies let web applications respond to you individually by tailoring its operations to your needs, likes, and dislikes based on the information it has gathered and remembered regarding your preferences.
Flipped-Out Food uses traffic log cookies to see which pages are being used. This helps us analyze data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to your (and other visitors’) needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes; data is then removed from the system.
These cookies help us make Flipped-Out Food better by showing us which pages you find useful and which you do not (for example: if you leave a page immediately, that tells us the page wasn’t very useful, or something is wrong with it!). In no way do cookies give Flipped-Out Food access to your computer or any personal information about you (other than what you choose to share with us [e.g., your email address, if you’d like, when you comment on a post]). NOTE: Flipped-Out Food will never share your email address or any private information with anyone else without your express permission.
You may either accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers accept cookies by default, but it’s usually possible to modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you’d prefer; however, these changes may prevent you from taking full advantage of Flipped-Out Food.
Google Analytics
Flipped-Out Food uses Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. You may use Googles Ad Settings page, if you’d like, to opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and to customize Google Display Network ads. If you wish, you can also use Google’s Opt-Out add-on to completely block Google Analytics tracking.
Flipped-Out Food will never share your email address or other private information with anyone without your permission. You must leave your email address if you leave a comment, but it will never be shared or displayed. That said, your comments are publicly displayed, so make sure not to include private information. If you choose to receive email updates from Flipped-Out Food, you may opt out from future mailings at any time.
