Ingredients

FOR THE MACERATED STRAWBERRIES

  • 1 orange zested and juiced (use 2 tbsp of juice; reserve remaining juice for another purpose)
  • 16 oz strawberries trimmed and cut into halves (or quarters, for large berries
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp coarse salt

FOR SERVING THE YOGURT

  • 32 oz plain fat-free Greek yogurt
  • maple syrup (high quality)

Instructions

FOR THE MACERATED STRAWBERRIES

  1. Combine ingredients for the strawberries in an airtight plastic container. Refrigerate until use.

FOR SERVING

  1. Add 3/4 cup Greek yogurt to a bowl. Top with 1/2 cup of macerated strawberry mixture. Drizzle 1 tbsp of maple syrup over the top. Serve.

Recipe Notes

WORK-AHEAD: I always make the macerated strawberries in advance. They make a fantastic topping for waffles and pancakes, too!
